President Draupadi Murmu nominates Sudha Murthy to Rajya Sabha on Women's day; PM Modi calls it testament to Nari Shakti.

Infosys Narayana Murthy's spouse Sudha Murthy is respected in Rajya Sabha on International Women's Day 2024 by President Draupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi. 

PM Modi expressed delight at President Draupadi Murmu's Rajya Sabha nomination of Sudha Murty, calling it a powerful testament to our Nari Shakti. Murthy the spouse of Infosys Cp-founder Narayana Murthy serves as the chairperson of the Murthy Trust and boasts authorship of numerous books. At 73 years old, her nomination coincides with International Women's Day. She received the Padma Shri Award in 2006 and the Padma Bhushan in 2023.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed delight at President Draupadi Murmu's Rajya Sabha nomination of philanthropist and author Sudha Murthy, calling it a powerful treatment to our Nari Shakti.

I am delighted that the President of India has nominated Sudha Murthy to the Rajya Sabha. sudha Murthy's contributions to diverse fields including social work, philanthropy and education have been immense and inspiring.

Her presence in the Rajya Sabha is a powerful testament in our Nari Shakti exemplifying the strength and potential of women in shaping our nation's destiny. Wishing her a fruitful Parliamentary tenure, said PM on x (formerly Twitter).
